I have recently given up conventional
darkroom work for the digital domain - a PC. It seemed natural - 20 years
shooting pictures, 15 years in the darkroom and 30 years of computer
experience. After some learning curve I can now produce a finished product
that rivals my conventional prints - which I considered exhibition quality.
For that matter I can now do much more than was possible with conventional
darkroom techniques

I still shoot real film - current (affordable) digital
cameras cannot capture enough information to make photographic quality
11x14 prints.
All of my prints are produced with archival inks printed on archival,
mat paper designed to last 200 years when properly stored or framed.
Through digital photographic techniques, I can create both traditional
portraits and unusual, beautiful photographic art prints. |
